Academy vs Sports Authority

Ok, you know I've found some good deals on my favorite running shoes at Sports Authority since I have posted about it. However, I found out Asics was discontinuing that line and that is why they were cheaper, and soon EVERYBODY had them cheap too. But I will admit S.Auth was the first, so at least they still had my size.
However, as far as shopping in the stores goes... Academy can't be beat! I was reminded of this today and I decided to give them a shout out because I'm sick of S.Authorities lack of REAL sale prices. Academy ALWAYS has great clearance racks (virtually the only place I shop) and I can get stuff anywhere from $2.99-$19.99. Well, I was at Sports Authority today and they had about EIGHT clearance racks. They had really good stuff on them too (great Nike and Adidas and even some Under Armour stuff, plus the black pants I love)...BUT they weren't priced as clearance. How can a "clearance" item still be $50!!!???? gimme a break! Not to mention, half the stuff they had on clearance (for $50 mind you), Academy had had on clearance SIX MONTHS AGO for $10-$20! For pete's sake S.Authority! If you want to stay in business lower your prices sooner to clear out the old stuff. The stuff was so old, yet they were still at prices as if it had just hit the sales floor. Insane. Made me mad too, because I'm getting excited seeing all this stuff, but then super deflated when I realized it was just marked down a little, not a true CLEARANCE price markdown.

So there you have it, if u want a good deal go to Academy and shop their clearance racks, you'll actually get clearance prices there :)

Oh Drat!

What happens when you bake and eat cookies constantly for 2 weeks?

You don't fit in your cute purple shorts anymore.

What a bummer! I guess I need to kick it in gear again. I need to stay consistent so its not yo-yo all the time. The problem is that I don't kick it in gear and stick with it unless I'm mad and VERY frustrated with myself. And quite honestly, right now I'm pretty happy. Therefore I don't have that extra stamina to keep me away from those blasted (yummy) cookies! Yes, I'd like to be in the purple shorts, and all the capris and shorts from 2007, but... I'm pretty happy with my new clothes that fit NOW, so I'm not in any huge hurry to change the way these things fit on me and therefore I'm not pushed to make that change. Oh well. We'll see what happens. I guess I could start wearing my old jeans (which are probably tight and would make me mad, and thus make me kick it in gear), but I LIKE wearing my new jeans, they are much cuter so I don't WANT to wear the old ones. Since the new ones fit, I'm just not that determined to make any huge changes.
There you have it the life of a yo-yo.

those purple shorts

I posted earlier that I was very excited after doing the cleanse to finally be able to wear my purple shorts again. I actually have two pair, one I've worn before (earlier last summer when I was about 141), and a new pair that I bought on sale to match this pink top shown, that I never even wore, because by the time I found them on sale I had gained weight, and when I gain weight it goes to my butt and thighs first, so bottoms are the first thing to not fit me right anymore. So after the cleanse, one of the "tests" was to see if I could fit into these two shorts... and I did! yippee! They actually fit and my rear didn't peek out (ok lets be honest, HANG out! Peek just sounds cuter ha ha). So there you have it... ta-da! they fit! And yes I'm a bit corny, I like to match most everything from picture frames on a wall, to the color running shoes I'm wearing with my gym clothes. So this outfit is a bit matchy-matchy, what with the purple sports bra peeking out an all, but I still like it, and I'm so happy to get a chance to wear them. Now if I can just make sure I KEEP being able to wear them ! :)

perfection?

Why is it that when I was smaller I was so self-conscious about wearing body-hugging workout pants, yet now that I've gained weight... I don't care too much that I'm not perfect in them. I actually look worse than I did before, yet I wear them more often now. Maybe the cold weather has something to do with that. It certainly makes a difference when its freezing outside as to whether I have capris on, or bare legs with shorts. I'll take the capris!
I've come to the determination that I don't look perfect in them, but 98% of the population doesn't either. So why should I be so concerned about wearing them? Everyone else wears them with all kinds of shapes and bodies. I mean seriously, there are only a few people who look absolutely perfect in them. By perfect I mean... flat tummy, no extra saddlebag thighs, cute perky butt (not flat, not saggy, not huge), muscular legs, and no muffin top. So this explains why there are so many people who DO wear them and aren't perfect, because gosh, that's a high standard to attain... perfection. So I guess my thought is this... I've accepted the fact that I'm not perfect. That has made me less self-conscious about my body, because I am accepting it for what it is. That has therefore, allowed me to wear those pants more often and not care what I look like in them (at least not enough to NOT wear them ha ha). Strange isn't it? I don't know I just thought it was. What do u think?

asics GT-2140

What a deal I got on these new shoes!!!! I'm so excited I just had to share! These are the shoes I have fallen in love with since I started running. I got fitted and measured and tested at Fleet Feet last year and they said I need a supportive shoe, not just a regular one. I don't remember if I'm over or under- pronated, but its one of them, and the shoe that works for me is the Asics GT-2140. I love them. They don't hurt my feet (unless they are old and breaking down-which is why I have a reason to buy more of them even though I already have 2 pair, plus 2 pair of the 2130's which I heard were pretty close, so when I found those on clearance I picked those up too a few months ago). So anyway, here they are... and they are even in a new color ( I have the white/blue and the turquoise/silver already), this new berry color is great because I wear a lot of pink and fuschia workout clothes---gotta love to match, right? They are so awesome. The sale is great too because they are only $69.99 online at sports authority (free shipping and no tax too!) which makes them even cheaper than spending gas to drive to town and buy them at the store! Normally they are $100, but if you look around u can find them for $89.99. I've never seen them this cheap, not even at the outlet mall! It was such a great deal I had to buy two pairs, and I honestly have to tell you I'm thinking about ordering more if they still have my size... I love these shoes, and I figure when running alot (which I know I'm not right now, but I do hope to start again), they will only last about 6-9 months per pair, so its makes sense to stock up when the price is right, doesn't it? I think so. Although I must admit I have a tendency to "stock up" too much on stuff and that's why I'm debating as to whether I should really buy more than two pairs or not. I mean, this is coming from the woman who has clothes stored away for her kids which they won't grow into for another 2 years! See what I mean about "stocking up"? ha ha.

They feel so awesome!!!!!! I love them, all fresh and cushion-y!

The sale is till 12/24, so u might want to check it out at http://www.sportsauthority.com/

35 sports bras

Just threw my fourth workout outfit into the laundry basket from today. I'd say there's a reason I own 35 sports bras, and its a darn good thing I love doing laundry :)

new workout gear

Ok, I REALLY am going to stop swinging by Academy and Sports Authority to check out their sales, because I REALLY need to stop buying more workout clothes. I definately have enough! I've realized why I'm doing this is (obviously I like to shop-but we already knew that!) is because I've decided not to buy any regular summer clothes like shorts and capris because I think I have enough (can u believe I am actually admitting that?!-don't let my husband read this eh, or he'll never let me live it down that I actually admitted I have enough of something!) So... to satisfy my "shopping desire" I've been buying workout clothes like a madwoman-actually I could put on a fashion show with pictures of all the new stuff I've bought this summer, but I won't do that-probably too boring. But I did want to post this new outfit. One, because it has a really pretty back (although there I am trying to pose and flex my muscles, but the problem is I don't see any! What's the deal with that!? At the gym when I'm lifting weights I see them. Is it the lighting there that casts shadows on the muscle ridges, or is it that when I have weights in my hands that's the only time they show? Probably both. Bummer, but no biceps here--but it is a pretty back isn't it?) And two, because I normally don't wear these kind of pants (but I do think the whole outfit together is cute), so I took some pictures before I took the tags off to make sure I really like the outfit enough to feel comfortable in it and keep it. Its a stretch for me. I'm not one of those people who wears tight or form-fitting clothing anywear (Not even those form fitting black pants that all the girls have been wearing for a couple years), so I had to make sure my confidence was up there enough to wear it. I showed Jen some more of the pix to get her opinion (is it obscene or ok to wear this? ), she gave the go-ahead (although, I do have to point out that I had no pictures of my behind in these pants-so IF I do wear them to the gym , she may regret her decision to recommend that I wear them once she's beside me and we start doing "running man" or something and my butt starts jiggling like a basketball!) Beware! ha ha

Anyway, here is another picture that shows the pants have this cute band on top that matches the green tops. I really do like it, I just hope I feel ok enough to wear it. Go ahead and weigh in, and tell me what U think. The tags are still on it, should I return it or keep it? Gosh , I could have made this a poll-ha ha.
